FRIDAY

EAT:
Pond Dalston
  DRINK:
Mission

Banish thoughts of deep dish pineapple pizzas and tiki dishes and head to Dalston for a fill of authentic Hawaiian cuisine. Starters are interesting combos (like prawns and squid wrapped in cabbage and served with bacon prawn ravioli), while mains include sambal black cod, 'tepanyaki tournedos', and sake udon. And don't leave without trying some poke; if sashimi and ceviche were to have a lovechild, this would be it.   The time has come and this time it's for real: Mission has opened its Bethnal Green doors. Expect 150 varieties of Californian wine from the old to the new (not world) (Broc Cellars, Hirsch, Mount Eden, Tatomer and Scholium Project), a British and Mediterranean inspired menu, plus a giant palm tree – all under a trendy east London railway location. Wined out? Try a boozy '3 sip' cocktail, but remember, it's a name not a challenge.

SATURDAY

EAT:
Kanada Ya Ramen Bar
  EAT:
Krug and Krustacean

Giving Tonkotsu a healthy serve of competition comes Kanada-Ya Ramen. They too have a noodle machine (hard to get, apparently) and pride themselves on their pork bone broth but they digress via a 3-part USP. First, they have the 'secret sauce' imported from Japan, secondly they wash all stock bones before boiling to "remove any impurities" and finally, you get to choose your noodle consistency – bouncy, firm or both – the choice is yours. Itadakimasu!   Champagne and shellfish, it never gets old. And celebrating the age-old pairing comes Krug and Krustacean. From the guys behind Burger & Lobster and Beast, the five-day pop up is all about the finer things in life: Krug Grand Cuvee paired with king crab, to be precise. The bubbles, claws, and crab sandwiches may be the highlights but we also think the Scandi-inspired huts on the Southbank deserve a mention too.

SUNDAY

EAT:
The Blues Kitchen Shoreditch
  DRINK:
The Bourbon County Cocktail Trail

Now for some Sunday soul. The Blues Kitchen Shoreditch will be serving their southern dishes (think buffalo chicken burgers, Cajun catfish and Gumbos… you get the picture) with a live Harlem Gospel Choir – aka Sister Act-style tunes. And if inspiration takes hold, we hear the choir is open to all, simply email info@theblueskitchen.com and wait for the call back. Oh happy days!   Keep on the deep south trail and finish your Sunday at The Bourbon County Cocktail Trail. Launching today at Spuntino, the series of cocktail master classes will be dedicated to bourbon laced cocktails, from sazeracs and old fashioned to old pals, all soaked up with Spuntino's famous Swiss cheese and jalepeno burger. And for the aficionados out there, we hear whisky flights are also on the menu.

DO NOT DISTURB

W VERBIER

In a Sentence
City sleek up high

About
Yes, this may be an alpine hotel, but don't expect any mountain-kitsch. Its Place Blance location (read: centre of town for those not au fait with Verbier) means you're on the same 500-metre road as the shops, restaurants, nightclubs and, 24-hour fondue vending machine. And if you're there during the ski season – W Verbier is at the end of the main piste, making it one of the only genuinely ski in/ski out hotels in town.
