Expect an indulgent brunch offering, which includes pumpkin waffles and Nutella French toast, hearty NYC-style sandwiches and, of course, a selection of Brooklyn craft beers on tap. Dinner-wise: think grills and fresh fish. Oh, and lest we forget the all-day cocktail menu. Fans of The Dead Dolls Club will probably know this, but if you don’t, their Islington branch has opened. The new flagship will be as the Hoxton venue was: a monochrome three-storey ‘house’ of dining rooms, bars and live music. SATURDAY EAT: Joe’s Oriental Diner PARTY: Fabric First with the izakayas and now a South East Asian diner: Scott Hallsworth is on a roll. Joe’s Oriental Diner will feature a menu of casual but interesting dishes such as sour Thai sausages, slow cooked duck red curry with lychees, yellow curry of mussels. Drinks come in the form of frosted beer tankards, boozy cocktails and teapots to share. If an all-night, sweat-infused club session is your tonic, head to Fabric for exactly that. One of the best line ups in London this weekend, Maya Jane Coles heads up the bill with Kim Ann Fox in Room One – expect their brand of house, techno and dub influenced sounds – while DC10’s mainstay Clive Henry and New York’s Bill Patrick will be on decks in Room Three for some guaranteed quality underground electro. Vibe and Decor It's loud, it's bustling and it's dark. This is not a restaurant for fine dining; it's all about juicy chops and fun times. 80s pop ballads blast out, high volume chatter is constant and there’s a roaming cocktail trolley. Flavours Brought to you by Gordan Ker (previously at Hawksmoor ), forget what you think you know about the ‘simple chop’– this place takes them to the next level. The simple menu of beef, lamb, veal and pork chops are as they should be: hot, meaty and juicy. We say, go ‘All In’ for a stack, which comes piled high on charcoal-grilled flat bread – and yes, the bread is worth the mention. Although the meat is the main star, don’t skimp on the sides. Standouts include the 10-hour roasted sweet potato and barbequed baby gems, both deliciously smoky and moreish. Now for the drinks – cheap and strong! £5 cocktails, wine on tap and, if the mood strikes, large bottled cocktails for the table. Top Tip It’s no-bookings so get there before the 7pm dinner rush or head in for a late-ish dinner. Highlight The new go-to place for casual, fun dining in Soho.
