TOP 5

ICE CREAMS

1. The sesame soft serve at Bo Drake is on our hit list.

2. The Kinako French toast served with green tea ice cream at Shackfuyu is coming up trumps on Instagram.

3. For a bit of buzz, try the Affogato at Bar Termini - espresso drowned in homemade almond ice cream. Enough said.

4. For those looking for booze infused ice cream, try Drunken Dairy.

5. Always save room for Foxlow’s soft serve menu: think chocolate and popcorn, bourbon and caramel and passionfruit Eton Mess.

FRIDAY

DRINK:
Demon, Wise and Partners
  EAT:
Percy & Founders

City slickers, this one’s for you. Go to the newly refurbished Arbitrager and head downstairs to its sexy subterranean cocktail bar, Demon, Wise & Partners. Come here for le pre-party and order one of the signature limited edition cocktails (the Witch of Portobello comes highly recommended) with a side of charcuterie. Interior wise, we particularly love the copper bar and bauble lights.   Breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails…the choice is yours at Percy & Founders. Headed up by Diego Cardoso, the former head chef of Murano, the all day, BIG 200-seater restaurant is the shiniest new kid on the Fitzrovia block – marble table here, original Hockneys there – with a menu of British and Euro dishes: think chicken wellington, lobster scotch eggs and some obligatory mac ‘n’ cheese. There’s also a generous wine and cocktail list. Currently in soft launch mode (50% off food) until April 2 –go!

EAT:
CEVICHE OLD ST
  PARTY:
Sven Vath at Building Six

We love the Soho original, so we're excited to check out the new Ceviche Old St. Same concept, same Peruvian menu. Expect varieties of ceviche, classic Peruvian corn cake dishes, skewers and, of course, meat. And then the piscos sours – oh, the piscos – we hope the piquant pisco makes the transfer.   Techno overlord Sven Vath is set to take to the decks at O2’s Building Six for a five hour, White Isle Cocoon-inspired electro shakedown, with Marcus Fix by his side. Room two will have the Rhythmatic crew jamming out their brand of house and techno. Cancel Sunday.

SEE:
Designs of the Year 2015
  EAT:
MoBa

Head to the Design Museum for one of our top Culturist picks of the month, Designs of the Year 2015. As per usual, the exhibition will showcase the best of the best from architecture and fashion to the more cutting edge and quirky nouveau designs such as the working lamp grown from a mushroom (see picture above).   Our culinary focus has been on Asia for a while (Smoking Goat, Peony, Shackfuyu), and now, London’s first Asian-inspired boulangerie has arrived. Head to MoBa for their take on French baking with a far eastern twist – think green tea croissants, spicy pineapple chausson and lime éclairs. The morning croissant just got interesting.
