Bombay Sapphire®

‘The Gin Journeys, An Exotic Journey to the Ends of the Earth’ at Sanderson- NOW OPEN

Sponsored listing

The last couple of weeks have been all about Ultimate Gin & Tonic twists at Bombay Sapphire®’s pop up at Sanderson. We've travelled to the Meditteranean via their Signature Sensory Serve with hints of fig and almond, heightened by a coffee atomiser. Now we're off to West Africa with their limited edition Moroccan twist. For the next two weeks, pop into the courtyard for the vibrant cocktail — a blend of sweet, dry pineapple shrub and spiced cinnamon syrup — paired with canapés of crispy spiced lamb shoulder with cured lemon and mint yoghurt. Up the ante and book into a complimentary masterclass or head in on Wednesdays for live music as part of Sanderson Sessions. This week, acoustic trio Revelry will be banging out the tunes.

The Gin Journeys at Sanderson is open daily from 6PM until late. Entrance is free, and Ultimate Gin & Tonic twists and pairing menus are independently priced. To book a complimentary masterclass, held every Tuesday & Wednesday, email ginjourneys@bombaysapphire.com. Live music nights are held every Wednesday night as part of the Sanderson Sessions.

FRIDAY

EAT:
Donostia Social Club
  DRINK:
Casita 2

Last week we dined at new Basque spot Lurra, and this weekend, it’s over to Donostia Social Club, the recently opened pintxos bar at Pop Brixton. Pick at plates such as smoked wild pigeon breast salad with pickled green figs and artichokes, pan-fried hake and brine cockles with samphire and lemon aioli and their twist on traditional conservas (foods preserved in cans and jars).   A couple of weeks ago, one of our favourite bars, Casita, opened a second branch, Casita 2, and it went completely over our heads. But better late than never. Their new dive, under a Turkish restaurant on Broadway Market has good time tunes; a boozy cocktail list divided into sections: Easy Going, Manly Man Drinks and Fresh; and holds a late night license. Tick, tick, boom.

London Design Festival
  EAT:
Pestle

London Design Festival has hit so start planning your design route. We’ll be starting at hardware store Buster + Punch, for their luxury hardware, before heading to MULTIPLEX by Tom Dixon at the Old Selfridges Hotel – “the immersive, multi-sensory department store of tomorrow” – for a sneak peek at how the future of retail might look, sound, smell, taste and feel.   We love Smoking Goat, so we love the news that its ex head chef Seb Holmes is in charge of new travelling Thai pop up, Pestle. Expect Thai curries and spicy khanom jeen noodles such as grilled peach massaman curries, jungle curries with mussels and clams and smoked rabbit green curry. GO:
London Fashion Week
  DO:
The World goes Pop

‘Tis LFW, so get involved. For those not FROWing or peacocking there’s still plenty of happenings outside of Brewer Street car park. Go intellectual with one of the talks at Condé Nast College, or be playful with the ultimate fashion pin up, Minnie Mouse, as the British Fashion Council and Disney have joined forces for the exhibition ‘Minnie: Style Icon’ at Blacks Club. Or, keep it simple and watch one of the live-streamed catwalk shows on Carnaby Street.   If you haven't yet booked a spot to see the Tate Modern’s ‘The World Goes Pop’ (we’re guilty), do so now. Unlike the other exhibitions on this topic, don’t expect to see soup cans or Lichtenstein comic strips. Instead, expect a global perspective on the movement, from Latin America to Asia, and from Europe to the Middle East. It’s not just about ‘merica. While you’re there, check out Totally Thames for more riverside arts, culture and music events.
