Food glorious food. We’ve packed the weekend to fill you up until Monday. We’ve got burgers, rustic French cooking, Texas slow cooked meats, and duck done every which way. And, behold, not one mention of fried chicken. In other news, cocktails are getting in on the zero-waste movement and we’re starting, what will be, a summer of goodbyes to one of our favourite clubs. Have fun!

| Friday | | | | | | EAT: | | DRINK: | Sardine | | Duck & Waffle | | Start the weekend with some rustic wood-fired cooking by Steve Parle’s (of Rotorino) protégé, Alex Jackson. His first restaurant, Sardine runs the gamut of Provence and Languedoc, and parts of northern Spain and Italy. Forget fancy foams this is simple hearty farmhouse cooking: think tomatoes stuffed with veal, baked with cream and tarragon, roasted quail drizzled with olive oil and heavenly apricot and brown butter tarts for dessert.
| | We’ve done zero-waste dining (Silo, Tiny Leaf…) now bartenders are getting in on the game. Starting with Duck & Waffles new summer menu. The cocktails are divided into two sections: foraging (ants, pollen, hay, bark…) and, more interestingly, decay (banana and avo skin, brunt toast, discarded coffee beans). Drink and save the environment, we’ll toast to that.

| COVENT GARDEN AFTER HOURS #CGAFTERHOURS | | Sponsored Listing | | | | Last week we took advantage of all the late night in-store activities (makeovers, manicures, hairdos…), as part of Covent Garden After Hours. For those not up to speed, Covent Garden has begun a series of late night shopping events. Shops are open until 9pm (Wed-Sat throughout July), and the cobblestone streets are absolutely bustling. Tonight, we’re excited listen to Covent Garden After Hours’ resident DJ and eat from London’s best food trucks down King Street, featuring cuisine from Frenchie, Maxwell’s, LIMA Floral and Southern Joe’s, and of course do some late night shopping in between. See you there!

| Saturday | | | | | | EAT: | | PARTY: | Texas Joe’s Slow Smoked Meats | | Space Ibiza Beach Fiesta | | If you’re up for getting your honky tonk on this weekend, head to London’s latest ‘spit and sawdust’ barbeque joint, helmed by Dragon Den star and Texan, Joe Walters. Aside from the juicy slow cooked meats with heavy doses of smoke, salt and pepper, moreish sounding sides (bone marrow with chilli and brisket nachos, anyone?) we’ll be going for the jukebox, whisky, and tequila.
| | In case you haven’t heard, one of our favourite clubs on the White Isle, Space, is closing (well, changing ownership) so the farewell parties are in full force. This weekend, Studio 338 will be saying its goodbye on its open-air beach (think sand, lounges, sunbeds and the lot) with a good ol’ fiesta and we’re told to expect the full scale Space-style production.

| Sunday | | | | | | EAT: | | EAT: | The Duck Truck | | Albion Clerkenwell | | With the turkey-based restaurant (Strut & Cluck) and now The Duck Truck opening its second site within a few weeks of each other, it seems there are some news birds winging their way onto menus in London. The Duck Truck in Boxpark is what it is. A food truck serving duck every which way: rotisserie cooked crispy duck wraps, crispy duck salads, brioche duck buns, duck breast steaks, confit duck leg and duck fat chips together with all the trimmings. Move over fried chicken.
| | Now onto its fourth site, The Albion has grown up. Its latest incarnation in Clerkenwell seems like the type of place Sundays were made for. Comprising of multiple dining areas, retail spaces and take out counters, expect to flit between the juice bar, grocery, bakery, craft beer and wine shop, oyster bar, cheese and charcuterie counter, pie room, cocktail bar… you get the picture.
