It’s another week of weeks. But, we’ve navigated the best of each event for you. We’ve got our top 5 for Frieze, plus thrown in an alternative art fair. For London Cocktail Week, it’s all about vintage spirits. As for everything else, a new cocktail bar has opened in Dalston and food wise we’re keeping things simple with chicken and steak. Enjoy!

| Friday | | | | | | EAT: | | DRINK: | Fancy Funkin Chicken | | Three Sheets | | Fried chicken –we’re not bored of you yet. Another chicken shop has opened, in Brixton. Come here for fried chicken, moreish sides (chilli cheese fries, tater tots and three varieties of cornbread…) and inventive cocktails made using ingredients sourced locally from Brixton Market. Try the Southern Negroni made with molasses and bourbon for a twist on the classic serve.
| | It opened. Then closed. And now it’s re-opened under a new name, Three Sheets. Adding to the recent spruce up of Dalston, Max Venning (alumnus of Tony Conigliaro’s Drinks Factory) and his brother have re-opened Between the Sheets as Three Sheets: a grown up neighborhood cocktail bar – sans gimmicks. Instead, the focus is on simple drinks made well in a pared-back setting. Just the tonic for Dalston.

| PUNKS | | AT THE MUSEUM OF LONDON | | Sponsored Listing | | From the personal scrapbook of Zoe Neale © Museum of London | | Discover the story of one of music’s most explosive genres through the experiences of those who were there at the time in a new free display at the Museum of London.
Punk hit London in 1976 and changed music, fashion and attitude forever. The music was frantic, loud and unlike anything heard before. From the handmade mixed tape sleeves and DIY fanzines to the radical clothes sold on the King’s Road, Punks displays the personal objects and tells the stories of the ordinary punks of the late 1970s.

| Saturday | | | | | | EAT: | | Drink: | Tramshed Rises | | Vintage spirits at Peg + Patriot | | Marking their comeback (oh yes!), Tramshed, the Hix outpost in Shoreditch that serves only steak and chicken, are re-launching with a super-sized sharing menu. From the Yard of Beef – an impressive portion of steak that comes on the bone (serving a minimum of 3-4) to the Big Bird – a super-sized Capon chook, the generous portions continue through to dessert with four giant puds to tuck in – we’ll take the giant salted caramel fondue, with extra marshmallows and doughnuts.
| | Classic cocktails may have been having a moment – Negronis, Old Fashioneds, Manhattans – but now the folk at Peg + Patriot are showing us how it’s really done. Over London Cocktail Week head in for a menu of 70s cocktails (11, to be precise) made with actual vintage booze. Aside from the usual suspects listed above, order some retro classics: mai tais, daiquiris, bijous… now stand up.

| Sunday | | | | | | WATCH: | | DO: | My Scientology Movie | | The Other Art Fair | | Fans of Louis Theroux’s will probably already know this, but if you don’t, his first movie, My Scientology Movie, is out this weekend. Lifting the lid on Scientology, Theroux goes behind the scenes, aided by former Scientology members-turned-whistleblowers. This may be a ‘documentary’ but make no mistake this is as Hollywood as they come… standoffs, re-enactments, controversy and yes, a bit of Tom Cruise.
| | If you’re looking for an alternative to Frieze, try The Other Art Fair. Held at the Truman Brewery, this is where you come to get a first step on the art ladder. There’ll be art for sale from the very best emerging and undiscovered artists, workshops, plus a book signing by British artist Martin Parr and a showcase by Tracey Emin of signed, limited edition prints and plaster sculptures, available to buy from £350. It’s not just about Frieze.
