| Friday | | | | | | EAT: | | PARTY: | Margot | | CLOCK STRIKES 13 AT LN-CC | | Nothing beats classic Italian food. If you agree, head to Margot, the new Italian restaurant from Paulo De Tarso (previous maitre d’ at Bar Boulud) and Nicolas Jaouën (GM of Mayfair’s La Petite Maison) that rifts on regional classics. Settle in and take your time with the menu of cured meats, carpaccio and tartare dishes, homemade pasta and a range of meat and fish main courses. We like the sound of the beef tartare with black truffle and scrambled eggs.
| | We love a good rave cave BYOB situation. Especially when they happen in unexpected places. Once a month or so, LN-CC moonlights as a disco den, hosting both upcoming and leading musical artists. Tonight, as part of the Clock Strikes 13 autumn series, UK techno brothers Tessela and Truss have teamed up as Overmono. Expect a bit of rave and 90s techno, as the siblings debut their live project in the fashion store turned rave cave.

| Belarus Free Theatre in association with the Albany Present | | Tomorrow I Was Always a Lion | | Sponsored Listing | | | | A theatrical investigation into the nature of psychosis and recovery. Based on the controversial memoir by Arnhild Lauveng, this raw and imaginative new production tells a unique personal story of living with and recovering from schizophrenia. Belarus Free Theatre, who are banned in their homeland – Europe’s last dictatorship – have fearlessly continued to use theatre to excavate social taboos including mental health.
“The company has a visceral power, a thrilling necessity-born inventiveness and an urgent topicality that is rare in theatre today.” New York Times

| Saturday | | | | | | EAT: | | Drink: | Little Smoke | | The laughing Heart | | It seems eating animals whole is à la mode right now. And it’s no better than at Little Smoke, specialising in whole native and rare breed animals, sourced from independent farms and butchered on site at sister restaurant Smokehouse. Even the homemade sauces have meaty twists (aged beef mayo, we’re looking at you). The wine list ticks the trend boxes, with lots of small producer, organic and biodynamic choices and a couple of English sparkling wines, too.
| | Hackney Road is spoilt for choice when it comes to bars (Sager + Wilde, The Marksman, Fanny Nelson) and now joining the fray is The Laughing Heart, a late night wine bar and off license run by a dream team that includes Charlie Mellor (previous stints include P Franco, Elliot’s, Brawn and Primeur), head chef Tom Anglesea (from Chiltern Firehouse) and Cedric Maillard (ex Head Sommelier at Sager + Wilde). Say no more, we’re there.
