| Friday | | | | | | EAT: | | DRINK: | StreetXO | | Ray’s Bar | | David Munoz’s highly anticipated restaurant, StreetXO, has finally opened! Although billed as the more accessible sister to his three Michelin-starred Madrid restaurant, the style is just as dramatic. The food is Mediterranean with an east Asian backbone (think kimchi croquetas and steamed club sandwiches with shichimi-togarashi) and served (sometimes sans plates) with foams, smears and live flames. The best bit? Walk ins and bookings are welcome.
| | Ray’s Bar, the new cocktail joint may have replaced Dance Tunnel, but it has some good points. For starters, if you like your aperitifs, mains and desserts, in liquid form, this is the place for you. The menu will guide you through everything from the light and fizzy such as the Pink Flamingo (rhubarb, Campari, Prosecco, grapefruit), to the heavier Tunnel Dancer (served only after midnight). When you get peckish, order pizza for your table from Voodoo Ray’s upstairs. And we haven’t even mentioned the shiny disco mirror walls.

| Saturday | | | | | | DO: | | EAT: | Ballie Ballerson | | Dum Biryani House | | Just when you think you’ve seen everything, in comes an underground space themed ball pit in Dalston named Ballie Ballerson. We’re not joking. The new ball pit for adults will have you, well, balls deep and throwing back retro and kidtastic cocktails (think pink shrimp daiquiris and skittle sours) with funk, techno and bass blasting. This we’ve got to see.
| | Exactly as you would expect, it’s all about the Hyderabadi classic, Biryani. Aside from the different variations of the mixed rice dish, there are the sides such as chicken wings, kebabs and lamb kidneys to fill up on. Drinks wise, go for the salted lassi, Cobra beer (on tap) or Thums Up (India’s version of Coca Cola).

| Sunday | | | | | | Shop: | | Drink: | Edwin’s on Bethnal Green Road | | The Fox Bar | | Fans of cult Japanese label, Edwin, will already know this, but for those who don’t, they’ve opened a new menswear store on Bethnal Green Road. Expect a vast selection of selvedge denim and apparel in a conceptual ‘east-end’ space – you know the look: striped back interiors, wooden furnishings and polished concrete throughout.
| | Foosball tournaments and chicken nuggets aren’t usually our style but when Soho House is behind it, we’ll happily front up. Located in Brixton, the ‘Chicago themed’ bar, in the Brixton basement of Piano House, offers up finger lickin’ food such as chicken wings, crinkle cut fries and dirty burgers, washed down with martinis and espresso martinis on tap.

| Product Pick: UJ Eats | | The Body Camp Cook Book | | | | There may not have been much food at The Body Camp (portions were regulated unless you asked for larger ones), but what there was of it, was truly top tier. Based on an 80% plant diet, executive chef Ben Whale concocted everything from pea and courgette fritters to mushroom bolognese and chocolate orange protein balls and more; the recipes were innovative and delicious (eating was definitely one of our favourite parts of this retreat!). So if you need to mix up your healthy dining repertoire, give this book a go.
