| Friday | | | | | | PARTY: | | WATCH: | GENUWINE | | NOCTURNAL ANIMALS | | R&B hits and a meticulously curated wine list? Sounds like a perfect night to us. Get yourself down to Ruby’s Lounge in Stoke Newington this Friday for a night of winding and grinding, plus some seriously good wine, selected by sommelier Courtney Stebbings (Lyle’s, The River Cafe). Also, may we just point out that the name is one of the best puns we’ve seen for a while.
| | After the incredible success of the ridiculously stylish A Single Man back in 2009, designer Tom Ford gets back into the director’s chair for Nocturnal Animals, an adaptation of Austin Wright’s novel Tony and Susan. Expect an impeccably-dressed Amy Adams and Jake Gyllenhaal to blow you away. Take a brisk stroll along the Southbank and see it at the BFI.

| Saturday | | | | | | EAT: | | DRINK: | PERILLA | | THREE SHEETS | | Oh we do love it when one of our most-loved pop-ups finds a permanent home. Say hello to Perilla, our fave new restaurant in Newington Green. Ben Marks’ (Claridges, Noma, The Square) menu offers fine dining at an accessible price, with European-inspired dishes including cuttlefish bolognese, duck egg with chopped mussels and preserved plum custard.
| | A cosy new bar on Kinsgland Road, Three Sheets is where you’ll find us this Saturday. The focus here is on cocktails which make the most of fresh, seasonal ingredients. With a concise rotating menu of nine curated cocktails, these guys make choosing your poison easy. Try a miso-infused, savoury take on an Old Fashioned or a carbonated French 75 – just do it quickly before they change!

| Sunday | | | | | | SEE: | | LISTEN: | TELLER ON MAPPLETHORPE | | A TRIBE CALLED QUEST | | To coincide with what would have been the 70th birthday of iconic photographer Robert Mapplethorpe, the Alison Jacques Gallery presents an exhibition of his work curated by that other iconic photographer Juergen Teller. Offering a chance to see his work through the eye of another artist, this one’s a must-see.
| | A Tribe Called Quest present their sixth and final album, We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service. It’s their first LP in almost eighteen years and it features all four original members in addition to Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar and Elton John. If that doesn’t entice you, we don’t know what will.

| FRESHEN UP | | WAH NAILS SOHO | | | | WAH opens in Soho this Saturday, dangerously close to the UJ office. WAH Soho will be the nail salon’s global flagship, and the interior will include elements of virtual reality, just to make things extra trippy when you’re getting your nails did.
| | | WAH Soho opens November 18 at 4 Peter Street, W1F 0DN

|
| JUST IN | | BARRAFINA SOHO | | | | Psst… we just got the news that the new Barrafina Soho opens today! Following its migration from Frith Street to Dean Street, the new location is actually a little larger, with an outdoor terrace that has already has us looking forward to summer. Never fear, the much-lauded menu will remain the same, with UJ favourites like octopus with capers, ham croquetas and Santiago tart all staying put.
