It’s December, and that means it’s the time for overindulgence. So we’ve got a weekend guide packed full of eating and drinking, because ‘tis the season, after all. There’s a new pizza place to try, G&Ts at José Pizarro, and a Sunday spent at an Italian feast. Oh, and before the calendar fills up, make some time to see London’s best exhibitions before the year is up.

| Friday | | | | | | TRY: | | PARTY: | Radio Alice | | Heidi at XOYO | | Friday night is pizza night, and we’ll be heading to an old school building in Hoxton Square for ours. Run by brothers Salvatore and Matteo Aloe and Gail’s Bakery co-founder Emma King, Radio Alice pizzas are a little different. The toppings – which are the showstoppers here – are added after the base is cooked for a more intense flavour. It might sound strange, but trust us, it’s good.
| | After pizza comes party, obviously. Walk just around the corner to XOYO for a night with UJ fave and Radio 1 House DJ Heidi. It’s part of her Jackathon residency at the venue, and it’s the only night for which there are still tickets left so get booking!

| Saturday | | | | | | EAT: | | DRINK: | Gin & Buñuelos at José Pizarro | | Clerkenwell Grind | | Known to you and I as fritters, José Pizarro will be serving up a selection of the fried Spanish bites with Gin Mare gin tónicas on the 10th December. If you’re a Pizarro regular you might know the prawn and lime variety, but they’ll be joined by chorizo and thyme, beetroot, tarragon and saffron, cod and a sweet Gianduja chocolate variety to finish off.
| | So you may have already heard about this opening a few weeks back, but now it’s time to get yourself down to the Grind’s latest location for some cocktails and dancing. Open until 2am from Thursday-Saturday, this might just be UJ’s favourite new late-night spot in East London. This Saturday, catch renowned DJ Guy Williams behind the decks – you can even head back for Sunday brunch to cure your hangover.

The warming northern Italian stew (with ox, duck leg, veal breast and cotechino sausage) is the star of Trullo’s lunch feast on 11th December, served alongside seasonal side dishes and a curated wine list.
