| Five-Star Festivals | | Nobu Hotel Shoreditch | | Festivals. Can’t get through a summer without at least getting one in. But choosing which one(s) to attend, if you don’t have a regular, can be tough. And now there’s even more choice. ‘Tis the year of the five-star festival and we’ve got three festivals – this week – to prove it.
| | First up is Nobu, who are launching their first European World of Nobu festival, curated by the one and only chef Nobu Matsuhisa, at the glossy new Nobu Hotel Shoreditch (#UJLoves). This Thursday night sees a seven course Omakase tasting menu, followed by a Nobu Food Festival Friday, where 21 of Matsuhisa’s executive chefs from around the world will be showcasing canapés. There will also be master classes hosted by Chef Nobu (all hail!) over the two days, available to book.
Next up we have Tomorrowland, entering weekend two this Friday (July 28-30). It might not normally be associated with five-star, but this year the festival is bringing in executive chefs from some of Vegas’ finest restaurants. Chefs from Joël Robuchon (The MGM Grand), Le Cirque (the Bellagio) and Libertine Social (Mandalay Bay), to name a few, will cook innovative three-course menus for ticket holders in open kitchens alongside leading Vegas DJs (including Afrojack and Laidback Luke). These hour long ‘sessions’, called B-EAT, are of course fusing bites and beats. There are only two slots left so get booking now!
And last up, this Saturday is Krug Festival – Into the Wild where guests will head to an 18th century heritage estate, The Grange (closest train station Micheldever) for a three-course dinner by acclaimed Argentine chef Francis Mallmann. He’ll undoubtedly wow with his signature 10-foot-tall open fire cooking (we hear it’s quite a feat that he’s involved here), plus, there will be music by innovative platform Mahogany and – of course – free-flowing Krug.
So if you missed your favourite festival this year – not to worry. There’s still time to check out the new breed.
