| Join the Launch Party | | Glenmorangie: Beyond the Cask | | | | In A Sentence Rosé might have been the drink of the summer, but it’s September, the leaves are starting to turn, and that means it’s time for a new tipple. Whisky tasting with Michelin-starred canapés anyone?
Traditional Techniques If you’re a whisky fan (and yes, this one’s without the E), you probably already know Glenmorangie – they’ve been making whisky in their Highland Distillery for over a century. If you don’t, you should know it gets its distinctive flavour from the American ex-bourbon casks it spends a decade maturing in. Most distilleries use these wooden casks five or six times, but the casks for Glenmorangie’s The Original are only used twice.
Modern Values Glenmorangie’s relationship to wood is a special and unique one, so last year they came up with an equally innovative concept to celebrate it. Beyond the Cask allows them to partner with key brands to celebrate the versatile material: last year their old casks were rejuvenated in the form of unisex wooden eyewear from brand Finlay & Co. So what about this year? For now, their new wooden accessory is secret, to be unveiled at their global launch.
Want to find out more? Make sure you book in for the launch on the 14th September. Tickets are £39 and include a whisky tasting (of course), signature drinks, and canapés by Michelin-starred chefs Mark Jankel and Jun Tanaka. See you there!
