| | …we’ve just got back from IMS in Ibiza, and the season is now officially open! If you’re planning on going over this year, highlights will definitely be checking out Cocoon in its new home, Sundays at Blue Marlin for Pete Tong’s special guests (this week it was Black Coffee and Virgil Abloh), and Salina’s newest addition, Beso Beach. Over the weekend we had our eye on all the photos from Movement in Detroit; next year, we’re there! In London, we’ve got pizza on the mind, and we’re hearing great things about Temper, Covent Garden. And, after the weekend we just had, we’re also thinking about upcoming fun in the sun; there’s Field Day this weekend, and Giant Steps looks great. Lastly – it’s almost June! Summer is well and truly here.

| | Rita's Bodega | | Baked In | | Boulangerie, but not as we know it | | No, bakeries aren’t usually our style. But this summer, put the pâtisserie on hold, and make way for agua frescas, maple bacon croissants, Andean pastel de nata and soft-serve custard from some seriously unlikely suspects, with Gunpowder, Rita’s and Martin Morales all on the line-up. Switch up that choux!

| | Bright | | Now Open | | Get those diaries out | | Sometimes you hear about a hyped new restaurant opening so far in advance that by the time it actually opens, you’ve almost forgotten about it. So, just in case, we’re here to remind you of a few big contenders that you can book into right away (or at least queue for). Bright (from UJ fave P.Franco) is one of our most-anticipated openings of 2018 so far, and they’re serving up katsu sando in Ellory’s former Netil House space as we speak. Closer to UJHQ, we’ve been watching Zuma’s new venture Inko Nito go up with anticipation, and it’s now finally time to try their take on robatayaki. And of course, pizza from Neil Rankin is a must.

UJ Playlist | | | | | Alexander Nut | | Turn it up! | | After hearing his recent Resident Advisor podcast, we knew we had to get NTS resident and Rinse FM DJ Alexander Nut to craft a UJ playlist for us. What to expect? A mix as eclectic as Alexander’s taste: from rare grooves like Idris Acamoor & The Pyramids to new tracks from J. Cole.

| | Mariell Lind Hansen | | The co-founder of Benk + Bo, east London’s new café-bakery, yoga studio and shared workspace, gives us some insight into her favourite London spots.
| | Where do you go for something healthy? The Grocery on Kingsland Road is my local go-to for when I need a vitamin fix.
What's your all time favourite London restaurant? Mildred’s was the first vegetarian restaurant I visited in London and has been a favourite ever since. I’ve been to all the branches and always leave happy!
Can you recommend somewhere in London we might not have been? I Will Kill Again – the café and roastery at Dark Arts Coffee in Homerton. They serve a really solid vegan weekend lunch. The coffee is amazing, we serve it at Benk + Bo, and they also stock our vegan pastries in their café.

Look no further: Moët & Chandon are putting their stamp on the start of the season with Moët Summer House, a private members’ club set in the heart of Mayfair, running for a fleeting three days and embodying the spirit of founder Claude Moët’s savoir-faire attitude. Doors open on Friday 8th June, with podcasts from Pandora Sykes’ The High Low, dinner by Jason Atherton and a pub quiz from Jack Guinness. And the best part? Membership is free, but don’t hang about, those sessions are getting booked up – there were still a few general admission tickets left when we last checked.
