| | …we’ve got holidays on the mind. Anywhere frankly! It’s time to get those rays in. With the EDITION Barcelona opening on the horizon and the EDITION Bodrum just launched, we’re thinking it could be time to check the expanding brand out. In London last week, we heard great things about the YOTA (Youth Of The Apocalypse don’t cha know) show at XOYO and it reminded us: it’s high time to get sweaty in a London basement and hear some new talent. On the food front, with Taste of London just wrapped up (bubbledogs mini dogs and fire pit demos from chefs Neil Rankin, Tom Brown and Jackson Boxer were our weekend MOs), we’re reminded of those restaurants we need to get into. This week it’s St Leonards. Happy Tuesday!

| | Babel House | | Far and Wide | | These new restaurants are reaching out | | Regional menus are nothing new, but we’ve noticed a few openings on the horizon that are offering cuisine from some out-there locations. Fitzrovia’s Kyseri (the follow-up to Shoreditch’s popular Oklava) will be serving up dishes from Turkey’s Kayseri region, alongside Turkish ‘pasta’ – made in the window à la Padella. Nearby in Mayfair, Babel House specialises in the countries that surround the Black Sea (namely Odessa – so expect GOOD seafood), and Bengali supper club Little Kolkata has found a permanent home in Covent Garden. Bon voyage!

| | James Stevenson | | After our visit to Brigadiers last week, we’re still thinking about those BBQ butter chicken wings and that extensive wine list. Want to know where their bar manager, James Stevenson, heads on his nights off? Read on.
| | What's your favourite London watering hole? I’m lucky that I have my two favourites next to each other in Bethnal Green: [start at] Mother Kelly’s for beers, then head to Sager + Wilde for their ace cocktails. And if you’re still going, try Coupette after.
What's your local? I’m a big fan of old London boozers and The Cock Tavern on Mare Street has the right balance of old man pub and great beers.
Can you recommend us somewhere in London we might not have been? I seem to send most out-of-towners to Garlic and Shots on Frith Street. A list of over 100 shots (some obviously with garlic) and heavy metal – how can you lose?
