| | …Frieze week rolls in, it feels like the moment summer’s over and (dare we say it) Christmas talks commence. So happy Frieze! And if you aren’t going, check out our Off Frieze round-up below. In other news, Two Lights by The Clove Club is on soft launch until 7th October, plans are in the works for a new Mercato Metropolitano in Mayfair, and we’ve got our eye on Caractère in Notting Hill too. Plus, it’s London Cocktail Week! We’ve heard the Porn Star Martini is back, and we’ll be dropping in on Barcelona’s Two Schmucks takeover at Hawksmoor tonight, and Miami’s Broken Shaker at Madison too. Lastly, after the Michelin star announcements yesterday, it sounds like a Shoreditch star crawl is on the cards: we’re thinking starters at Leroy, mains at Brat and then to Lyle’s for dessert.

| | Marcus Cobden, Berenjak | | Autumn Arrivals | | What’s on our radar this week | | New season, new openings! We’re thinking rustic flavours and comfort food are going to be our jam for autumn, so we’re looking forward to trying out Berenjak for a reinterpretation of traditional Iranian dishes, and heading south to Fat Phil’s in Camberwell for soul-warming food from ex Roux/Blanc/Pierre White-trained chef Phil Cooper. As for drinks? We’ve heard Max and Noel Venning of Three Sheets have a new bar in Crouch End on the way – watch this space for more info!

| | Hannah Sharman-Cox | | Happy London Cocktail Week! To celebrate, we spoke to founder Hannah Sharman-Cox to find out her favourite watering holes in London.
| | Which bartender should we have our eye on? James Drummond from Bethnal Green’s Resident of Paradise Row. He was just awarded the London‘s Best Cocktail Award.
What's your favourite restaurant when you're in London? Where’s your favourite London restaurant?
The Ledbury – I go every year for my birthday with my friends and it’s my favourite meal of the year. Or Barrafina.
What should we be drinking for autumn? We’ve noticed two clear trends at London Cocktail Week this year. The first being the rise and rise of non-alcoholic cocktails – low ABV bitters, ameros or vermouths served with tonics make a great autumnal drink. The second is the Peruvian spirit pisco – a pisco and tonic makes a great alternative to a G&T.

Across 24 hours in London, Sketching follows drag queens, squatters, jewellers and thieves as their infinite tales of the city overlap. A searing update to Charles Dickens’ Sketches by Boz, Graham and director Thomas Hescott sought out new voices via an open application process before bringing multiple crowdsourced narratives together into one final script. Running now until Saturday 27th October at Wilton’s Music Hall.

| | Sponsored Listing | | A Multi-Sensory, Immersive Experience | | Sight, sound, scent (and cocktails) | | London Cocktail Week is always a cause to celebrate, and this year we’ll be checking out The Light House by The London Essence Co (from 1st-6th October). By day, explore the immersive space, which uses light to create a sense of relaxation and serenity.
