| | …were on NY last week! First for the opening of Hudson’s Yard, the huge new NYC development which features the very excellent sounding Mercado Little Spain, a collaboration between José Andrés and UJ fave, the Adrià brothers. And second for the star-studded launch of The Times Square Edition. We absolutely loved the creative visuals on the Jumbotron: Times Square has never felt so fresh. Back in London, we finally got in to check out Paris-based Big Mama Group’s first London restaurant, Gloria. As expected, we loved it – London needed this! A restaurant that’s actually fun! Start with a drink and stay all night. It did get us thinking again about booking policies (you can’t book in for dinner here). Read more about our thoughts and tips on how to get in. And lastly, with Giles Coren’s weekend declaration that Endo at Rotunda is the best restaurant he’s been to in 20 years, we have our sights set on paying them a visit (email for bookings). Dare we say it – it feels like west is getting it’s groove back (for real). Have a good week.

| | Let the Sun Shine In | | Spring is here, and we’re getting the pastels out | | Did you know that Selfridges has the world’s largest single-space destination for eyewear? Well, neither did we. We ran through the other day though and it’s definitely worth a visit (we’re loving the Ray Ban 2168s). We’re also loving the preptastic pink coming through from Noah NYC. Corduroy for spring? Feels fresh. Happy shopping!

| | Joe Goddard | | Hot Chip, The 2 Bears and an international artist himself, Joe Goddard is one of our favourite DJs behind the decks. He took the time to speak to us ahead of his upcoming Hot Chip gig at Village Underground on April 4.
Since I was like 14 I’ve been chopping up drum loops and trying to make music. It’s been constant and pretty obsessive. When I’m chopping up drums now it feels strange to think I’ve been doing basically the same thing for 25 years. But I’m still totally crazy about it, honestly.
Career highlights? Onstage with Wiley and Glastonbury was amazing. We couldn’t believe he showed up! Playing the Hollywood Bowl twice, that place is so beautiful. Japan, South American festivals with Bjork – partying with her and her Icelandic choir.

Save the Date | | | Amnesia Ibiza’s Pyramid night is coming to Printworks on March 23 for a day rave; with Tiga and Kölsch, this could be a good one if you fancy a danceup. For some old skool throwbacks, Blackstreet (No Diggity) is at the Jazz Café for three nights (March 25-27) and Back to the Future is at the Royal Festival Hall April 13th with a live orchestra, which sounds fun.
