| | …it’s two weeks before Glastonbury and we’ve forgotten to get a ticket. If anyone has a spare one, please let us know; we’ll repay the favour! In other news, if you haven’t been to Parrillan yet – the new restaurant by the Barrafina team in CDY – the second the sun comes out, run there! This is the terrace of the summer. Over in Soho, the second part of the 2019 Quo Vadis & Friends series has just been announced (The Ledbury or Coombeshead Farm nights please); watch their events page to see when tickets go on sale. In Italy, last weekend’s flurry of Instagram pics (stripes and prints!) from the launch of the Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa in Ischia has us wanting to book a trip immediately. In Spain, we’ll be heading to Ibiza this weekend to check out the new BLESS Hotel, the latest 5-star to hit the White Isle, and the first of two big openings (W Ibiza is in August) on the east coast this summer. And closer to home, this Friday sees the launch of the US’s much-loved SoulCycle in the capital. Happy June!

| | Westfield 2.0 | | Mo' restaurants in the revamped Balcony Court | | Yes, we’re talking about restaurants in a mall. Already enamoured by Ichiba (largest Japanese food hall in Europe; like it more for the food than vibe), it’s good to hear that there are more restaurants on the Westfield Shepherd’s Bush horizon; we’re looking forward to Corazón (TACOS!), Catch Me (Club Gascon’s Pascal Aussignac’s seafood offering), and Master Bao.

| | James Lowe | | After earning his chef stripes at The Fat Duck and St. John, and following the successful pop-up Ten Bells, James Lowe opened his own spot, Lyle’s, which now has one Michelin star. James took time before his new opening Flor – a new wine bar and bakery in Borough – to tell us where he likes to dine.
| | What’s your local? I live in east London so consider myself very lucky with plenty of great options nearby. One I’m really excited about is Tata Eatery. After years of pop-ups, it’s finally opening in a permanent location near Old Street so I’ll be eating there a lot.
Favourite international restaurant Septime, in Paris. The chef/owner Bertrand Grebaut is one of my favourite chefs; he’s classically trained but produces some beautifully modern food. Every meal there is inspirational, as is what they’ve achieved – they now have several places in Paris and one in the Normandy countryside that I’m keen to visit this summer.
Guilty food pleasure? Not sure if this is a guilty pleasure but my mum used to make tomatoes on buttered toast – great bread, excellent butter and roast tomatoes – and it is still one of my go-tos when in need of something quick.

| | Jean-Charles de Castelbajac x Palace | | JC can do no wrong | | We love JC de Castelbajac! One of our favourite purchases ever is our JC Mondrian-style Mickey (Un Monde Riant) print. For some designers, putting out so many collabs starts to look a bit same-y. Not with JC. From Rossignol and Vilebrequin to his own collection for Benetton (LOVE SO MUCH), and now this Palace collab, we truly want it all.

| | Sponsored Listing | | Crémant and Rosé Week | | Time to wine-around! | | As you know by now, Loire Valley Wines are encouraging you to get out and explore London this month with their self-guided wine tour series, and this week (until 16 June) it’s Crémant Week. From the heights of the O2 down to the river in Greenwich, the route will take you on everything from boats to suspended gardens, with views of St Paul’s and the Millennium Bridge in between. From June 17th – 23rd it’s Rosé Week (yes!), where you’ll be guided from the halls of the V&A to the Serpentine, and then over to leafy Clerkenwell, via secret gardens and an old Routemaster. There are, of course, great wine points along both routes to enjoy wines from The Crémant de Loire and The Rosé du Val de Loire regions. Have fun!
