When One Door Closes...
New year, new faces, spaces and places. Out with the old and in with the new. Goodbye bad habits, hello virtuous gym-going. Ahem.
And so, on the one hand we bid farewell to Flash, which prepares to pop Jonny Woo back in his box, cart its cabaret back to storage, and close its doors for good, leaving a trail of Will Broome crockery and Giles Deacon chandeliers in its wake. The whole set-up, however, will be on sale on Monday, with glassware going for a quid and everything from furniture to wine-coolers up for grabs.
Meanwhile, arriving in a flourish of Japanese fan mayhem this Saturday, NIGO and Jun Takahashi of cult labels A Bathing Ape & Undercover, are launching Nowhere in the Dover Street Market basement. Now that the London BAPE store has closed down, this replica of the pair's 1993 Harajuku location will be the only place to find their stuff, alongside new, exclusive products and re-editions of ultra-rare LAST ORGY 2 pieces - the first collection the two made together.
If you can't wait for tomorrow, head down tonight and have a copy of the 15th Anniversary Book signed by NIGO himself. But catch it while you can: what goes up, must surely come down.
NIGO signing at Dover Street Market - Friday January 16
Nowhere at Dover Street Market - from Saturday January 17
Flash closing sale - from Monday January 19
