When I was eight, I drew a picture of what I thought the world would look like in 2012. It was a skyline filled with flying cars and indistinguishable people in blob shaped spacesuits. With two years to my deadline, I’m not feeling hopeful about my clairvoyancy skills.

Nonetheless, with the annual CES event wrapping up lots of space age gadgetry in Vegas last week, and Hussein Chalayan’s technologically-imbued fashions exhibiting at the Design Museum from tomorrow, we’ve got future technology on the mind.

1
Drive it, fly it: The Terrafugia Transition, £132,000.
The first flying car transforms from two-seater to plane in 15 seconds. ?

2
Snap it, print it: Polaroid PoGo Digital Camera, £132
The classic instant photo goes digital with a built in printer.

3
Time it, speak it: LG GD910 watch phone, £TBA
Spy-style wrist phone with full 3G, media player, touch-screen, text and phone capabilities.

4
Think it, move it: Mattel Mindflex, £55
The first mind controlled toy, you'll be able to float and control balls through the air with the theta-wave power of your brain.

5
Dream it: iMo
MA Automotive Design student Anthony Jannarelly's Apple-inspired robotic concept-car of the future. So cool, we want it now.
