Tom Harrow has the perfect Italian getaway planned with his Barolo and Truffle Trip to Alba and its surrounding vineyards. Expect beautiful dinners rich in Piemonte’s regional cuisine, laced with seasonal white truffles paired to the great Nebbiolo wines of the region – ‘the King of Wines and the Wine of Kings’.
Kick off your trip on Friday 29th October with an Estate Visit of the Castello di Neive, followed by a Barbaresco and Truffle Tasting Dinner at La Contea, a picturesque converted 18th century hunting lodge. Saturday will see you trying a horizontal Tasting of Vajra’s Cru Barolos, followed by lunch and a vertical Tasting of Famiglia Anselma’s Estate’s wines from 1993 until the present day. Dinner will take place at one of Italy’s top 50 restaurants, Borgo Antico, and followed by a nocturnal truffle hunting excursion with a local ‘truffaio’.
Finally, rich with knowledge and inspiration, spend Sunday perusing the region’s truffle fair in Alba and get your treasures at market prices before lunch at the famous Eno Club.
