The Rushmore Bulletin

You’ll know them best for their secretive Soho lair Milk & Honey, Notting Hill diner Tiny Robot (where UJ threw a little launch soiree), Shoreditch speakeasy SuperPizza (and its subterranean members’ bar Danger of Death) or perhaps surf and turf joint Redhook, amongst others. The Rushmore Group’s hotel, bars, clubs, and restaurants span the globe from London to New York and Melbourne to Chamonix, guaranteeing a great time with a chic crowd. Now they want to share their news and special offers with UJ subscribers with some free stuff worth the read along the way. Here’s what’s happening this month.

Redhook

Play Redhook Roulette on Saturdays

Redhook is Rushmore’s seafood & steaks place on Turnmill St. in Farringdon, complete with late-night cocktail bar open until 1am (Thu-Sat).

Special Offer: On Saturday nights it’s time to play Redhook Roulette with a chance for you to eat and drink for free. No need to visit a (s)wanky casino; when it’s time to pay the bill, they’ll bring the roulette wheel to your table and you spin to win. If your number comes up then all of your food and drink is on them. Of course, you don’t have to play but if you do, there is a catch – land on zero and as well as the bill, they’ll take £10 off you to go to charity. It wouldn’t be like proper gambling otherwise would it..?

Open for lunch and dinner Mon-Fri and for dinner on Saturday. To book a table call 020 7065 6800 or book online here.

Milk & Honey

Best Bar in the World...again

At the end of last year, Milk & Honey London was once again awarded ‘Best Bar in the World’ by Drinks International magazine (see the full list here). In 2009, Milk & Honey London and New York were first and second and it’s a testament to their great staff and lovely guests that they have held on to this position for another year.

Insider Info: If you’re not a member you can still visit early evening and early week provided you book ahead. Remember to call first on 020 7065 6840. If you’re interested in full membership, you can sign up here.

Special Offer: Whilst the seven rooms (including the rooftop Myla suite) are looking fully booked until the end of March, there’s still some availability in April. If you’d like to give Chamonix or The Clubhouse a go then they’re offering a discount of €150/€250/€500 on any three day/four day/full week booking in April made before 13 March. All you need to do is quote reference: Urban Junkies.

Super Pizza

‘The Second Best Coffee in E1’

Last November, a new café-bar on Brick Lane quietly opened serving cold beer, wine, sliced super pizza and great coffee from Tim, the pro-barista and part-time moustache model. Head down and sample some seasonal salads and soups, piadina flat breads with a cannellini bean dip and a good glass of wine. They also do DIY morning toast if you're in before 11am with free WiFi and 'the second best coffee in E1'.

Danger of Death

March Membership Amnesty

Rushmore’s latest late-night, dinky drinking den opened on Brick Lane in late November.

Special Offer: Danger of Death is members only, but during March (and if the regular members don’t moan too much perhaps April) they’re allowing you in on Wednesdays from 6pm to 1am. You’ll need to print off a copy of the first page of their brilliant new drinks menu and bring that in to Super Pizza. They’ll do the rest. Plus if you fancy joining full-time, there’s a membership fee amnesty throughout March. If you join before 31 March your membership will effectively be free as they’ll credit the £100 annual fee to your ‘smart’ membership card which can be used as a food and drinks tab whenever you like, leaving you with just the £30 one-off joining fee to pay. To apply, please click here.

Danger of Death is open from 6pm to 1am four nights a week (Wed-Sat) and until midnight on Sunday.

Giant Robot

New Food

Everybody loves Giant Robot’s Italian nibbles and meatballs to rival Mamma’s - and now they’ve got some new items on the menu, including a Scottish Rib-Eye Steak with Woodford Reserve peppercorn sauce, Red Snapper with baby beetroot, wild celery and prosecco and Burrata with grilled vegetables and basil pesto. The menu is here so start picking, and if you pop in on Tuesday 8th March why not indulge in some boozy pancakes?

Special Offer: If you live or work in EC1 you need to get an EC1 LOCAL card, the great food and drink initiative that Giant Robot sometimes plays home to. New cardholders get a £20 tab at Giant Robot to kick things off. Sign up here.

Giant Robot is open from 10am every day and the bar goes late until 2am Thu, Fri and Sat, with brunch from 10am to 5pm Sat and Sun. Match Bar & Grill

Brand New Menu with Half Price Offer

Match Bar is still one of the best bars in the world and a great place to enjoy a little bit of that lived-in East London lounge bar vibe in the West End. After over a decade of great drinks and great times, the place is still as busy as ever. Last month it got a mini makeover and introduced a brand new Match Bar Menu with some help from the Giant and Tiny Robot lot.

Special Offer: To get you to give the brand new food menu a go, they’re doing a 50% discount on food ordered before 8pm Mon-Wed in March. All you have to do is mention Urban Junkies when you order.

Tiny Robot

Weekend Brunch and Late Night Bar

For a killer all day (9am-5pm) weekend brunch (you know… papers, house favourite Climpson & Son’s coffee, chilled out music and great food to start the day or recover from the night before) it’s worth popping in to Tiny Robot in Notting Hill for a Brooklyn Breakfast or check out the brunch menu here. Don’t forget boozy pancakes here on Tuesday 8th March too.

They don’t take bookings for brunch but turn tables quickly if you drop by. Tiny Robot is open until 2am Thu, Fri and Sat (but you have to be in the door by 1am – it’s the law!) for cold beer and classic cocktails.

The Starland Social Club

Local Membership Open

The Starland Social Club is a hush hush little hideout on Westbourne Grove in Notting Hill, with killer cocktails and a kick-ass sound system (it’s co-owned by legendary music producer and DJ Arthur Baker so you know the tunes are going to be good). Whilst it is late-night and members-only, local membership is now open and if you live in West London, we reckon it’s well worth joining.

To apply, click here. You’ll need to answer a few questions about yourself – pressing stuff including ‘What did you have for breakfast?’ and ‘What are you wearing right now?’ – but as this place is great and has pretty much the only late licence in the area, it’s worth it. Chop chop, as membership will fill up soon.

Open from 7pm to 3am four nights a week (Wed-Sat) and until midnight on Sunday. Call 020 7065 6805 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. to talk to someone nice and find out more.

Trailer Happiness

Catch It While You Can

A little head’s up - Trailer Happiness still rocks it on Portobello with its retro-sexual haven of faded glamour, and March will be your last chance to see the place before it’s closed for refurbishment.

Match Bar & Grill Melbourne

It’s Summer Here!

Sure it’s still frosty in London, but summer’s hit Melbourne and the deck at Match Bar & Grill in the CBD is as good a place as any to spend an afternoon and evening of cocktails and BBQ. Their Funktion One sound system is one of the best in the Southern Hemisphere.

Match is open until 3am Fri and Sat.
