Tate Modern hosts the first major retrospective of German textile artist Anna Albers this year, in an exhibition brining together 350 of her most notable works from major collections in the US and Europe. Studying at Bauhaus art school, Anni used weaving and textiles as her main creative mediums, and although she was often overshadowed by her husband (and Bauhuas theorist) Josef Albers, her work has come full circle in the past decade, inspiring Paul Smith and countless other textile designers.
