The Gran Fiesta de la Calçotada comes to Exmouth Market every Sunday in February, and once again Morito marks the annual gastronomical celebration of the calçot harvest. In true Catalan style, this means a party with plenty of food, drink and onion-eating, of course! The green onions (which are almost leek-like) are grilled over open fires and then wrapped in newspaper before being served on terracotta tiles, dunked in romesco (a famous Catalan nut sauce of almonds and peppers) and then eaten. We say swap the Sunday roast for some Catalan hospitality and book in.
