Sakura (cherry blossom) season marks the start of spring in both Japan and London – or at least it’s meant to! Whether the weather follows suit or not, the city’s Japanese eateries are ready to celebrate. From 19th March-19th April Yamagoya’s famous raindrop cake is being updated to include a cherry blossom flower at its centre, and is one of the most aesthetically pleasing dishes we’ve seen in a while. If you’ve got a real sweet tooth, try Sebastian Wild Cakes’ flowerpot at Sexy Fish too – from pot to petal, every single part is edible.
From 26th March-17th June, Zuma has teamed up with Ciroc to create a bespoke cocktail menu (think pickled blossom martinis), set against a floral installation that’ll have you feeling like the seasons are changing in no time. Sake no Hana have gone down the art route: enlisting London-based artist Lydia Kasumi Shirreff to create a piece that riffs on the Japanese tradition of flower viewing. Catch it from 19th March-16th June.
