Diébédo Francis Kéré brings his interplay of colour and woodwork to the Serpentine Pavilion this summer. Inspired by the trees of Burkina Faso, where Kéré spent his childhood, the pavilion has been created to provide shelter, whilst allowing visitors to experience the natural elements. The canopy, which lights up at night, is made up of wooden perforated blocks, allowing air to circulate, and creating more comfort for visitors passing through during the summer. And the indigo blue? Burkina Faso’s chosen colour for celebration.
