While Thanksgiving still feels firmly like an American holiday, we never pass up the chance to raise a glass and give thanks to those around us. Treat someone, surprise someone, or just get the gang together this 22nd November. See our highlights for the holiday below.
Bad Sports will be popping up at Shoreditch House for a Mexican-themed Thanksgiving dinner. Think carnitas, candied yams, roast turkey and Buckfast negronis and book here.
Sea Containers at Mondrian London are serving up a limited-edition menu full of stateside classics (chestnut mac and cheese gets our vote but yes, of course there’s turkey too, and sweet potato pie), and it’s running all week of Thanksgiving – book in via email here.
Red Rooster always throw a party to remember – we say go in for their £55 menu (three courses, including a drink). Kick off with a pumpkin spice espresso martini, and then go for Sammy’s chicken ‘n’ waffle and bourbon-glazed ham with jalapeño-cheddar cornbread.
45 Park Lane are hosting a three course Thanksgiving feast on 22nd November (count us in for the pumpkin cheesecake) as well as American cocktails from the negroni trolley. Email to book a place.
Ace Hotel have teamed up with The POP to host Breaking Bread: A Modern Thanksgiving Event on 22nd November. Kick off with pumpkin martinis on the 7th floor rooftop from 7pm, and then feast on freshly baked cornbread, corn on the cob (with edible soil!), roast turkey (of course) and pie.
Balthazar’s famous pecan pie returns for another year – pick one up from their boulangerie or go all-out and sit down to the Thanksgiving menu with gingerbread fizz, roasted butternut squash soup, and of course – roast turkey with all the trimmings.
Neptune’s Thanksgiving menu is priced at £35pp for a set menu including clam and smoked bacon chowder, turkey with chestnut and sausage stuffing, creamed kale, corn and cheddar biscuits and pumpkin custard tart.
If you’re missing Bad Sports’ presence on Hackney Road (we are), then book in for their Mexican-style Thanksgiving at Shoreditch House. Non members are welcome!
And for a plant-based Thanksgiving? Head to Farmacy on Thursday 22nd from 7pm for their first ever supper club. It’s £60 including three courses and a cocktail – expect seasonal mezze with chestnut hummus, Farmacy’s classic winter bowl with braised red cabbage, whipped squash and celeriac remoulade, and a twist on the classic American pie.
