Remember when pop ups were a last minute, hokey takeover of a (usually) derelict – read “cool” – space? Well, they’re gone. People are placing as much emphasis on the transitive as the permanent. The pop up is evolving.
The eternal problem: you’re in a club craving some good food. Or, you’re out for dinner and fancy an impromptu party but queues are long and tickets sold out. If you’re not a member of Shoreditch House then it’s slim pickings: there are few places in the capital where you can get everything you want under one roof.
I sent my car to the graveyard earlier this year. It was long overdue, but heart wrenching nonetheless. Seeing your only child being picked up by a crane and hauled away to its fate is never nice…
We love a good gadget at UJHQ. We couldn’t live without wireless audio system Air Foil, we’ve been using Elfster to sort out the Xmas party Secret Santa, and we’re really happy that Furbys have made a comeback (with app et al). From hi-tech – a new e-mag, gadgets and app classes – to low(er)-tech – cases, games and fun USBs – we’ve got tech-heads and novices covered. Now all we need is EE…
