Daily Coverage: Aimee McWilliams
Bold colour, texture and surface interplay were combined with silhouette contrast to create a collection full of fun and impact, but perhaps just a little diffused for a clear message. The highlights included brilliant knits with cocoon shapes in a variety of stitch effects, for instance in acid lime; these were like modern heirloom pieces, which would work with a simple dress or jeans, but equally well over a gala gown. The furs may not have appealed to everyone, but added to the overall feel of luxury, so clearly present throughout the collection.
Hot items included a brilliant scarlet silk knee-length kilt, a black shirt trimmed with violet collar, cuffs and kipper tie and a wonderful lacquer red coatdress with grouped buttons which although 80s in thought was totally
2007 in realisation.
Overall the impression was of a clever and confident designer with an audience who are already strong fans of Ms McWilliams.
