Daily Coverage: Bérubé
In ticking every key trend of the season, Berube offered something for everybody - tiered ruffles, pinafore dresses, ladylike pieces and a dash of glam! The tightly controlled colour palette of grey, black, white and silver was created in a range of weights of fabric including fluid jersey, sheets of sequins and metallic leather.
All this added up to a touch of the 80s with a hint of Norma Kamali- perhaps not inappropriate for this season. However the great gift was that so many pieces could be extracted and personalised with the individual wearers style.
Volume, a trend which all designers still seem to feel has great mileage and are happily still exploring, was used in a variety of ways. A bubble back coat and a softly rounded jacket were just two strong examples -the one sophisticated and couture style, the other easy, relaxed and sporty.
