The words "commercial" and London Fashion" is not a usual word combination. Yet Jasper Conran shows top quality fashion in London with commercial appeal; perhaps his New York training at FIT has something to with it. His monochromatic collection shown against red decor was well balnced with strong silhouettes from clean cut shift and trapeze shapes through to ruffled cocktail and evening dresses with flirty feminine fit 'n flare. Restraint in details meant a lack of fuss but still incorporated capes, bell sleeves and floaty ties to give a romantic twist to modernity. Opaque matt black tights and sleek hair added to the impact of this sophisticated collection.
