Daily Coverage: La Petite Salope
With the dress definitely continuing as a key piece, this collection showed just how beautiful both dresses and coatdresses can be. From the first elegant and graphic number in crisp taffeta with a dramatic bow at the neck, through to the final floor length column evening dress with jewelled straps, the collection showed a confident hand and
lightness of touch many much more experienced designers would and
should envy.
Softly bubbled shapes in shadowed monochrome contrasted with crisply
folded and pleated styles. Dense inky black velvet and organza in
exquisite shades of moss and mist gave the colour palette an almost
Jane Eyre like romanticism.
There was a hint of the rigour of Jean Muir in the collection and no
higher tribute can be paid to a young designer embarking on her career.
Please also note the styling detail of red seamed stocking was the
perfect injection of sexiness to the presentation.
