| | …we’ve got theatre on the mind. After seeing the excellent Come From Away (yes, it’s a musical …), our love of theatre has been restored. Now a trip to NY to see Plaza Suite with SJP and Matthew Broderick – tickets go on sale tomorrow and performances start March 13 – is definitely on the cards. And as it’s soon to be October (we got our first Christmas press release this week), it’s the countdown to Frieze, always an inspiring time of year. If you can get into the preview, do it. Lastly, it’s not too late for some October sun; check out our Menorca recommendations below if you’re in the early-autumn-sunshine market. Enjoy!

| | Spin | | West again | | So, we’re west again. And this time, it’s not about food! Joining the already healthy spin offering in Notting Hill – think Heartcore and 1 Rebel – are Psycle (Westbourne Grove) and SoulCycle (Portobello). If news be correct, the owner of SoulCycle is an active Trump supporter, so we’ll be heading straight for Psycle then. Join us! Now all Notting Hill needs is some new club nights and it will truly have come 360.

| | David Waddington and Pablo Flack | | Bistrotheque founders David and Pablo have recently brought their east London magic to Manchester, creating CULTUREPLEX, a new social and cultural destination with a restaurant, lounge, events spaces, outdoor terraces, cinema and more. With this in mind, we think it might be time for a Manchester trip; we caught up with them to find out some of their favourite Manchester spots.
UJ: For a bit of culture…
David: I’d head to the Whitworth Gallery.
Pablo: I’d go to the Manchester Art Gallery, Islington Mill, Contact Theatre, Royal Exchange, HOME and of course CULTUREPLEX.

| | Bubala | | Around town | | Forks out | | If the post El Bulli closing era was all about namechecking chefs who ‘trained with Albert or Ferran’, today’s version is ‘ex-chef at The Palomar’. The latest in this chef camp is Helen Graham (Palomar, Barbary), who will be heading up the new, all-veg Bubala, opening in Spitalfields. With dishes like grapefruit ezme with tahini and pumpkin tirshy (aka pumpkin dip) with harissa, we’re sold already. Get ready to Google some ingredients. Over in Walthamstow Market, The Jellied Eel has recently launched a permanent residency in Manze’s pie and mash shop. We love the idea of a cocktail and gourmet croquetas bar (open Fridays and Saturdays). They will also be adding small plates to their menu.

Save the Dates | | | This week, we’re looking at A Very Expensive Poison, a play about the notorious death of ex-FSB Officer Alexander Litvinenko. With some heavyweights behind it – John Crowley (Brooklyn, The Goldfinch) directing and Lucy Prebble (The Effect, ENRON) reimagining the text– it should be a good one. We also can’t wait to get into the Tim Walker exhibition at the V&A. Lastly, after seeing Come From Away – the true story about the 7,000 air passengers (from all over the globe) who were rerouted and grounded in Newfoundland in the wake of 9-11, and the community that welcomed them – we can’t recommend it enough. Go!
