If Halloween was anything to go by, people are ready to participate: parties, costumes, parades in NYC! Speaking of NYC, if you’ve tried to get a flight to the US lately, you’ll likely have noticed that it’s busier than ever – so if you have any American travel plans on the not-so-distant radar, we recommend you get clicking. Lastly, if you’re doing DOTD today, it may feel a bit commercial in recent years, but remember, the actual thinking behind the day is a good one. Enjoy!
Have great weeks all.

| | | | Joyride | Gimmicks | | Continuing on the experiential trend we covered a few weeks ago… want to clay pigeon shoot with your pinot? (Digitally, of course.) Or how about some UV cricket with your cocktails, or maybe a multi-sensory joyride with your dinner? These days, it seems like it’s all about the add ons for some.

| | | NYC | Wellbeing Waterpark | | All we know so far is that one of the founders of the High Line in NYC is looking to bring Therme, a wellbeing waterpark, to NYC. Feels like 2022 might be the start of a new more fun direction for wellness – here’s hoping.

| | | | | Theatre and a Stay at The Londoner Hotel | Enter to win | Sponsored listing | | White Noise at The Bridge Theatre, written by Suzan-Lori Parks, the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright, takes an unflinching look at race in the 21st century from both a Black and white perspective. Thirty-somethings Leo, Misha, Ralph and Dawn have been inseparable since college. As best friends and lovers, confident in their woke-ness, their connection with each other is stronger than anything else – until, that is, Leo is assaulted by the police in a racially motivated incident. Shaken to the core, he brings to the group an extreme proposition.
If a night of culture, out on the town, with a stay at the shiny new hotel The Londoner sounds good to you, apply now. *The stay must be taken before 13 November and the competition closes Nov 3, 6PM.

| | | | | The Maine | Mayfair | New new new | | There’s a lot going on in Mayfair lately. Launched last week and open from 15 November, The MAINE, from Canadian entrepreneur Joey Ghazal, is a new three-floor New England style brasserie on Hanover Square. Another big opening, the iconic Langan’s Brasserie re-launched last week too; expect a French-British brasserie menu and raw seafood bar. El Norte (from the owners of South American Zuaya in Kensington) will be a new Northern Spanish restaurant on Dover Street; Fortnum’s has a new sustainable pop up restaurant, Field, and Stripes in Brown Hart Gardens has pizza and brights (and its design looks fun). Coravin Wine & Bubbles Bar specialises in wine by the glass, and Manthan is a new restaurant by Rohit Ghai specialising in Northern Indian small plates that are street food inspired.

| | | | | The Maybourne Riviera | Brands on the Move | A few to note | | The Maybourne’s new hotel and the fifth in their stable – The Maybourne Riviera – looks incredible, and has just opened its doors in the French Riviera. The Standard has just announced they will be opening in Ibiza next year (location TBC), and the wine club 67 Pall Mall is opening a 2-floor member’s club in Verbier (4 Dec), complete with sun-soaked terrace, restaurants, concierge, 3000 wines with 500 by the glass, and, interestingly, a gym (fitness + fun… see?!). More on all of these soon.

| | | Porte Noire | Wine n tings | | So, Idris’ Parrot bar may have been short lived, but his new Porte Noire in the Gasholders building in CDY looks slick. A collaboration with the founder of Connaught Wine Cellars, this is the first bar and shop for the duo (who founded the Porte Noir wine and Champagne brand) and will feature over 800 wine bins – and also claims to have one of the largest fine wine rooms in London.
