Whenever Copenhagen calls, so does Mother Restaurant, the sourdough pizza specialist found in the city’s meatpacking district that has become one of the mainstays of the casual dining scene there. Mother are now expanding, with their first international venture landing at the newly opened Battersea Power Station on 23rd July, with a launch party on 22nd. They’ll be staying with their trademark no-frills approach to great pizza; think organic sausage and porcini for the Pizza Porcella, or Burning Love, with potatoes, fried onions and røget spæk. It’s the bases you pay attention to: Mother use purified seawater for their wood-fired sourdough, making for a lighter crust.
