When do sibling duo Zoë and Layo Paskin get to sleep? We have no idea, as The Palomar and The Barbary co-owners have just added The Blue Posts to the fold. Set on the edge of Chinatown, where a public house has existed on the site since 1739, Zoë and Layo have re-opened The Blue Posts, restoring its ground floor as a pub. Downstairs, they’ve added Evelyn’s Table, a private dining room to provide informal catering for around 11 diners. Head chef Nacho Pinilla creates daily changing menus of modern European dishes, and they’re half bookable seats, half walk-in, so chances are good for a seat however you play it. Upstairs, The Mulwray will be the place to head to celebrate – a cocktail lounge with a wood burning stove and well-stocked bar whose charms already sound irresistible. And what’s the lowdown on the curious collection of names at play? Zoë and Layo chose to give reverence to the character played by Faye Dunnaway in the film Chinatown, Evelyn Mulwray.
