June 2018Selin Kiazim and Laura Christie are back with Kyseri, a contemporary exploration of Turkish cuisine and a follow up to their buzzy Shoreditch outpost Oklava. This time, the pair are setting out to debunk any remaining myths around kebabs being the centre of Anatolian food. That means two Turkish pasta dishes, manti and eriste take centre stage (fans of tortellini and tagliatelle will love the comfort food factor) as they’re made in the window, à la Padella. In fact, there’re so many new flavours to try, we’d suggest repeat visits so as not to miss the aged Cornish duck with grape molasses, halibut with za’atar butter or liberal amounts of tulum across the dishes – it’s Turkey’s equivalent to parmesan. Make sure you try the wine, too: Laura Christie, who runs Islington’s Linden Stores, has curated a list of small producers from Turkey and the Middle East.
