Sure, there are lots of blockbuster art events in London this summer (for instance, it’s almost literally impossibly to miss Christo’s Mastaba) but don’t let the smaller shows pass you by. Against The Grain celebrates the history of skateboarding by collecting together the artists credited with giving skateboarding its rebellious feel and visual identity in the mainstream. Spike Jonze, Glen E Friedman and Atiber Jefferson are all on show, as well as Mike O’Meally’s recent photography for London’s Palace skate team – it’s a show packed full of unseen imagery from inside the skateboarding scene.
