What do you do when your train is delayed at Victoria Station? Nip around the corner and dine on £19 truffle pizza of course! If you know Chucs, you’ll be familiar with their nod to nautical décor and their reassuringly expensive fabric palette. Here, they’ve brought the garden they’re known for at their Westbourne Grove location indoors, and it works. The bar at the front looks like where you should start the night, and there are some stellar tables – the round table at the front, tucked away in the corner; the private room – but our favourite has to be the four seats next to each other, outside at the front. Dine on the bar side by side and watch the world go by. Menu highlights include cacio e pepe, linguine with crab and chilli, zucchini fritti (so thin, so great) and that truffle pizza. They also have steaks, a whole Dover sole, and some great wines by the glass. There’s nothing too groundbreaking here, but that’s what makes it a classic.
