More info
Located in the heart of Porto, this is one bustling, modern venue. Duck egg blue tiles outside set the tone for an elegant yet relaxed, contemporary dining experience, just as you’d expect from Mr Mendes.
There’s a lot about Cozinha that reminds us of Nuno’s Loft days: open kitchen, pans around, and chatter, but this time, it’s definitely elevated. The cooking here focuses on northern Portugal with an innovative twist – think menu items like Turnip Natas with caviar, which turns the Portugese much-loved pastry, pastel de nata, into something savoury and new. The wines are largely from northern Portugal too, with several natural options. Everything on this menu has meaning to Nuno and you can tell that this is a very personal offering. The dining room is centred around the wood-fired grill, and there’s a warmth and theatricality that runs throughout; add to this the friendly atmosphere and you have an all-round fun, epicurean good time. Plus, next door is Flôr, his bakery by day, bar by night. If you need an excuse to spend some time in Porto, need we say more?
