Old school Italian hospitality is at the heart of this luxe Covent Garden affair, the first opening from former Bar Boulud maître d’ Paulo de Tarso and La Petite Maison and Balthazar general manager Nicolas Jaouën, who first met at Scott’s in Mayfair. Head chef Maurizio Morelli brings experience from both Rome and London to the fore, with a menu spanning charcuterie, cheese, carpaccios and tartares, as well as pastas and larger grilled meat and fish plates. The vibe is formal, certainly, but with its attentive service and sumptuous surroundings, it’s not without reason. Don’t miss tortino al cioccolato for dessert, or their terrace for alfresco summer nights.
