On our openings list, West African inspired Chishuru just opened in Brixton Village. Rondo, the new restaurant and wine bar by the owner of Clipstone, Quality Chop House and Portland (three London greats), recently opened in the Hoxton Hotel, Holborn. Cha Cha Notting Hill is the new Golborne Road multi-storey restaurant (serving Med with a Latino twist), rooftop bar and shop. Maison François – a modern all-day brasserie and wine bar – is opening in St James’ mid Sept (they had us at comté and black pepper ravioli). And Pizza Pilgrims has a new picnic kit, making al fresco dining easy.
Re-openings
And guess who’s back? We’re excited about Ronnie Scott’s (all seated, so chic, re-opening 19 Sept.), The Palomar and The Barbary (YES!), The Clove Club, Wilton’s, and, coming up, Bentley’s is re-opening 1 October. Sabor’s excellent El Asador has had a refurb and has new menu dishes, too. Back to life….?
