Padella

Fresh pasta à gogo. Although we’re not usually a fan of the queue, we make a personal exception for Borough Market’s Padella. From Tim Siadatan and Jordan Freida (the brains behind Trullo), Padella is a masterclass in simplicity. There are just eight dishes on the menu, and we’d happily go in for seconds for all of them. Start with the pici cacio e pepe (of course), but don’t miss the pappardelle with sausage and fennel ragu – it’s a match made in umami heaven. And if a meal here is a deal-breaker for your trip, arrive 15 minutes before Padella opens for lunchtime or dinner so you can be sure to get ahead in the queue.
