If you have any friends who have been to Miami lately, you’ve probably heard about this spot – a huge Asian food hall disguised as a convenience store, with karaoke, a record shop, live performances, and indoor/outdoor space. As it’s from the owners of Coyo Taco (Wynwood’s much loved taco spot and hidden bar that plays host to some of the best parties, and the hottest Miami Tuesday night around), this is a popular spot, so get in at 5 (you know the drill).
27 at Freehand
Who knows how a restaurant in a hostel has ended up being one of Miami’s hottest restaurants, but it has! From the renowned Broken Shaker team (the bar here), this much-loved local spot serves global fare, with award-winning drinks in a tiki den upstairs (love). Every year, it’s always good here.
Kaido
Launched in December 2018, this is a big blingin lounge, where everything basic most certainly isn’t. Fondue is uni fondue. Katsu ‘sandos’ are made with A5 Wagyu. Picklebacks don’t come in a jar and the king crabs legs are huge. There’s a secret bar, Ama, in the back (no photos, booking essential), and there’s Gucci boutique downstairs in case you need some last minute sparkle.
NaiYara
With a strap line that reads sexy, sushi, Thai, and accolades that consistently rate this as one of Miami’s best Thai, if you’re up for flavourful combinations inspired by Thai street food and Japanese cuisine in a laid back setting, this is your spot!
Upland
Straight outta NYC, Upland is much like its much-loved sibling. Expect an Italian/Cali mix, with large plates (whole branzino) for sharing. The pistachio pizza and green leather booths have us on a flight already.
