Top 5: Veggie Restaurants

Where to find the best vegetarian eats

  • Farmacy

    74 Westbourne Grove, London, W2 5SH

You know when you want healthy food but you don’t want it to taste like healthy food? Farmacy has got you covered. Their menu is entirely plant-based (with the exception of a few egg dishes), organic and chemical-free, but it all tastes amazing. Feast on the classic Farmacy burger, beetroot dahl, calzone and tagliatelle al funghi – guilt free.

  • Tibits

    Heddon St, Mayfair, W1B 4DA

Tibits is a Heddon Street institution. From breakfast to dinner, they’re open all day to cater to all your plant-based needs from their food boat. What does that actually mean? Fill up your box or your plate from over 40 choices of veggie and vegan salads, soups, hot dishes and desserts, including spinach and kale falafel, curry and coconut udon and roasted tandoori cauliflower.

  • Berners Tavern

    10 Berners St, Fitzrovia, London W1T 3NP

It’s not usually heralded as a veggie-haven, but Berners Tavern are launching a limited-edition vegan menu from 23rd May until the end of the June. The five course set menu is served in Berners’ private dining room (with a minimum of eight people per booking), at £65 including a cocktail. Choose from dishes including pickled carrot tartare, sweet and sour artichokes, lemon and mint granita, and almond and chocolate ganache.

  • Club Mexicana

    28 Kingsland Rd, London E8 4AA

When meat-lover Neil Rankin sings the praises of a vegan restaurant, you know it’s good. Club Mexicana at Pamela is UJ’s go-to when dining with vegan or veggie friends, and for good reason. Trust us when we say you won’t even realise their tacos, tostadas and quesadillas don’t contain meat; all hail jackfruit.

  • I Will Kill Again at Dark Arts Cafe

    Arch 216, 27a Ponsford Street, E9 6JU

This place is a little tricky to find, but it’s a great East London brunch spot to satisfy both vegans and carnivores. Think specials like beetroot buckwheat pancakes with tofu chevre and garlic mushrooms, served alongside smoked pancetta with avo, goat’s curd and poached eggs. Plus, the coffee from Dark Arts roastery is an added bonus.
