Looking for something different to do? Want to really take in the sights in your hometown? Then Bustronome is for you. Billed as a gourmet bus tour, this is a double decker that’s been converted into a mobile restaurant. Board at Embankment and begin. For lunch, it was starters at Big Ben, mains around St Paul’s, and dessert and coffee at the Tower of London. There’s a glass roof, so rain or shine this is a good time, and they’ve built in a very functional drinks holder, so you don’t end up wearing your vino. It’s very well known in Paris and they’re just getting going here.
Choose from lunch or tea (both 1 hour, 45 mins) or dinner (2 hours, 45 mins). Lunch is a great way to see the sights, but we also think the longer dinner would be a magical nighttime London ride. The menu varies seasonally, but the chef cooks French contemporary cuisine with global accents, and they have many different pairing options, should you want wine. As for the sights, don’t miss the pen that talks: push the sight icon on your placemat, and listen to the pen for insight. Simples. A great day out, with guests in town, or just for something different to do.
