For a while in Comporta, the only name that you really heard of was Sublime. Now there are a few more, but Sublime is still one of the most well-known on the boutique/luxe front. The Sublime Beach Club is about a 10-minute drive from their hotel, on the beautiful beach Carvalhal, which many consider to be the best in the area (of the more developed beaches).

The Décor
They’ve done it really well here. This is an elevated beach shack that retains the rustic-chic vibes, but ensures things are stylish with the design and furnishings. Tables are wooden with plush pillows, and there are ceramic lights and fabric-covered chairs. And, importantly, no matter where you look, there are beach views.

The Menu
Start at the buzzy front bar while you wait for your table and order something refreshing, like a Paloma. Try to request a table outside, and, once seated, order from an extensive menu with highlights that include a ‘Sublime’ local salad with prawns; grilled lobster; spaghetti vongole; and oysters: all the usuals, really, but done very well.

Highlights
The location. Come here for lunch and stay for sunset.
