The Lowdown
It’s been five years in the making but hotelier Rami Fustok’s latest opening is set to live up to the hype. The son of absurdist sculptor Bushra Fakhony, if anyone could build a hotel where nothing is as it seems, Fustok could.
The Facts
Here, the mystical properties of the Mandrake are used to inspire a boutique guest house with a central hanging gardens courtyard packed full of jasmine and passion flower. They’ve thought of everything, from the soundscape designed by Pierre Arnaud, to the specially designed scents from performer Azzi Glasser. Look out for Le Chateaubriand co-owner Frédéric Peneau, who has opened Serge et le Phoque, an 80-cover restaurant within the hotel.
