Hotel
W Hotel
We’ve never actually stayed at a hotel in Montreal, but we know the W is renowned. Plus one of our friends works there.
Top tip: Ask for Rocco, tell him hi.
Restaurants
Buon Gusto
This restaurant makes great authentic Italian food. Plus our good friend Jordan is the amazing head chef there. He’s also the reason Khaled and I met and created UNDERHER!
Top tip: Let Jordan know we sent you; he’ll take great care of you.
Milos
Best Greek food. Khaled claims to have had the absolute best tomato of his life there. And of course the rest of the food is AMAZING. It’s imported fresh.
Top tip: Order the tomato salad for mind-blowing tomatoes.
Dakao
Best pho in town. Great for cold weather and hangovers.
Top tip: Go there hungover and thank us later.
Clubs/Bars
Piknic Electronic
People hibernate in the winter and go crazy in the summer. It’s an outdoor electronic music tradition every Sunday in the summer.
Top tip: Best to go by metro and leave your car at home. Spend that parking money on a bucket of sangria.
Stereobar/Stereo
This was where we had our first gig ever as UNDERHER. Anybody who knows electronic music in Montreal knows Stereo. It’s the only after-hours underground club in the city that brings in the finest of techno.
Top tip: The less you wear, the better – this is a place to dance, sweat and lose yourself so no fancy wear. No judgment.
Joverse
Why do you like it: A resto lounge club owned by Julian Prince who also organizes SXM festival. If you’re in a sexy mood and want to meet people and listen to some good music, this is it.
Top tip: Wear your fancy shit.
Shop
Editorial
Montreal based brand that design streetwear chic clothing for women and carry fashionable brands as well. The staff is also chill.
Top tip: Try and make a budget. But you’ll top it anyway.
Quote about why you love this city?
Montreal is a melting pot of cultures and the perfect blend of European and North American life. The people are open minded and like to keep the peace. There’s FANTASTIC FOOD of EVERY kind. Very artistic city.
Top tips for travelling here:
1. Go check out the festivals and events (Jazz Festival, Igloofest, etc.) – there is so much cultural art
2. Visit Montreal in the summer and winter. Both seasons have their magic (even if the snow and cold are intimidating)
3. Try the smoked meat from Schwartz’ Deli
4. Try the bagels from St-Viateur Bagels
5. Go watch a Habs game
Don’t leave without buying to take home?
1. Any type of winter gear – that’s our specialty
2. Ice wine (Canada’s the largest producer)
