Containers

Not just for shipping

Boxpark, Pop Brixton, and now a couple more containers to add to the mix.

Wildflower is the first restaurant by 28-year-old Adrian Martin, in Buck Street, the new eco-market on Camden High Street. Served inside an upcycled shipping container, Martin aims to show a new kind of tasting menu (eight courses, vegan and regular, for £60 pp or £110 pp with wine flights), showing off produce from his home country, Ireland.

Turnips with Tomas Lidakevicius joins the recent ranks of tasting menus (, Erev) to hit Borough market. Here, from his shipping container-cum-kitchen, Tomas (the ex-executive chef from Jason Atherton’s City Social) will be serving a five-course tasting menu (£65pp) that focuses on seasonal veg (but not only veg),under the festoon lit arches of the market. He will also be doing small plates and cocktails by the Turnips market stall (do the tasting menu though if you have time).

Lastly, this one’s a bit of a stretch, but the Sea Containers restaurant is re-opening on 1 August, with a Champagne-themed summer terrace to drink Laurent-Perrier Cuvée Rosé on. Prefer to get something to take away? They are also doing takeaway frosé with Ultimate Provence.
