From 1975 to the present day, Oakley has revolutionised the way amateurs and professionals experience their sport.

“In 1975 a ‘mad scientist’ named Jim Jannard decided to revolutionise the standard motorcycle handgrips used by amateur & professional riders alike. The idea was simple, create a unique tread that was ultra sticky and shaped to better fit the riders hand.

From grips to goggles, Jim spotted an opportunity to help improve a rider’s performance by supplying lightweight eye protection that used the same grip-technology to stick to a riders helmet. This goggle developed into sunglasses and in 1984 the Eyeshade was born, the first piece of eyewear designed specifically for performance sports.

Over a 37 year history, Oakley have been awarded more than 600 patents worldwide and have helped some of the world’s leading athletes reach their goals.”
